Bethany Theological Seminary
Educational Policies Committee

Matters of academic concern are normally referred first to the Educational Policies Committee for decision. The committee may in turn refer the matter to the faculty. Requests from students for new courses, special reading courses, independent studies, exceptions to prescribed educational procedures, or any concerns related to class instruction are referred to this committee.

Faculty representatives to this committee shall include the Academic Dean (convener), Director of Academic Services, and one teacing faculty member. Student representatives to this committee shall include one elected student representative and one appointed student representative. Due to the sensitive and/or confidential nature of the matters addressed by the committee, continuity in student representation is beneficial.

Submission Policy

EPC proposals and petitions must be submitted to the Academic Dean by noon two days prior to the scheduled meeting so that committee members have time to review the items. Proposals not submitted by this deadline will be held over until the next meeting.

Scheduled meetings

Meetings dates and times are found on the Seminary Planning Calendar.

During the breaks and summer EPC meets on an "as needed" basis. Timely review of requests is subject to people's summer vacation and travel schedules.
